G.LION HAWAII is pleased to announce the appointment of Chef Jared Murakawa as Chef de Cuisine of Quiora.

Born and raised in Oahu, Jared Murakawa is a proud Punahou graduate. His interest in the kitchen led him to enroll in California Culinary Academy in San Francisco, where he began his culinary journey. Chef Murakawa continued to perfect his craft at three-Michelin star restaurant, Quince, in San Francisco. His five years at Quince developed his passion for pasta. Missing home, Murakawa moved back to Oahu, where he joined Alan Wong’s for seven years. Murakawa departed Alan Wong’s to join the opening team at MW Restaurant.

As the Chef de Cusine for Quiora, Chef Murakawa, along with Executive Chef Eric Oto, and Corporate Executive Chef Shaymus Alwin, will collaborate to focus on Quiora’s commitment to the community by providing mindfully sourced ingredients and supporting sustainable efforts within the Islands. We are beyond excited to have Chef Jared Murakawa join the team, and can’t wait for everyone to experience his craft through his four-course Holiday Chef's Tasting Menu. Local ingredients and flavors meld with Italian and Mediterranean influences.
